Life Groups

Life Groups for 2019/20 Launch September 8th-13th

Just as God is a community of persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), being made in His image means we were made for and flourish in community together. In community you can know and be known, love and be loved, and serve and be served. It is an opportunity to enjoy and embody the gospel together. Enjoying community together in smaller groups was a vital strategy for Christ in His own ministry and was a very effective means of strengthening each other and advancing the kingdom in the early church (Acts 2:46-47).

Along with coming to Sunday worship, we encourage everyone to participate in these groups in order to experience the joy of life together. Contact if you have any questions about Life Groups. Below is information of various nights/places our groups meet as well as a link to sign up for the groups in Planning Center.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is a Life Group?

Life Groups are intentional communities designed around three things:
1. Growing in our knowledge and understanding of God’s word
2. Deepening our relationships with Jesus Christ and each other
3. Serving each other and our communities. They meet weekly for an hour and a half for a time of fellowship, Bible study, and prayer.

Why should I join a Life Group?

At Good Shepherd Church we recognize that it’s easy to come to church on a Sunday morning, hear a message, sing some songs, and then leave without ever truly knowing anyone else or being known by the community. Life Groups are an opportunity to break that cycle. It is in our life groups that real relationships are formed, real questions are asked (of both the biblical text and our own stories), and our presuppositions about life, the Bible, and each other are really challenged.

When do Life Groups start meeting?

The week of September 8th-13th

How do I sign up for a group?

Simply go to the Life Groups Directory and click on one of the groups to join it.

It’s hard to be nice to people if I’m hungry.
Will there be food?

Most of the groups will provide a meal or at least something for you to eat. However, for the sake of making supplies last, we ask that you feed your kids before the Life Group.

What do I do with my kids?

Each group handles childcare differently. Please sign up for a group in order to receive more information about where childcare is provided and how it works.

What do I do if I’m not sure which group is right for me and/or my family?

Feel free to sign up for one or more groups even if you’re not sure you’ll stay in that group. Signing up for a group gives our leaders an idea of how many people to expect for food and childcare.

What if I have more questions?

If you have any additional questions please send them in an email to
