We are so glad you found us, and we would love for you to come worship with us! Our building is located at 890 Boulevard and our service starts at 10:30 am. We are a multi-generational, family friendly church whose mission is to know Jesus, and to make him known in Normaltown, Athens, and the world.

FAQs

WHAT DO I WEAR?

Dress how you feel most comfortable. Good Shepherd as a whole is pretty casual and on most Sundays you will see people wearing jeans and a comfortable shirt.

WHERE DO I PARK?

There is a lot behind the church building with an entrance on Hiawassee Ave. Please try to park in this lot or along Boulevard St, but leave the spots immediately in front of the building for those who need close access.

DO YOU OFFER CHILDCARE?

Childcare is available in our Nursery and Children’s Church during the service. Our nursery is open for 0 to 4-year olds during worship. Additionally, prior to the sermon, Pre-K and Kindergarteners will be dismissed to Children’s Church for a lesson from scripture. Please first check your child in using the iPad outside the classrooms. There are volunteers available for assistance outside of the nursery in the back of the church.

WHAT IS WORSHIP LIKE?

Worship begins at 10:30, but we welcome you to get there a bit early, grab a cup of coffee, bulletin and a seat. Our worship service includes music, prayers, liturgies, preaching and communion. On most Sundays an elder will lead the congregation through our worship found in the bulletin, with Morgan Angert, our pastor, preaching.

Our music includes traditional hymns set to contemporary music.

We observe communion every Sunday, but participation is voluntary. The elements are presented at the front of the church so it’s not obvious if you decide not to partake.

Our hope is that you would leave worship with a renewed sense of God’s faithfulness to a broken world through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Beliefs

Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church is a family of imperfect people united by faith in a perfect savior. By God’s grace, we are a church that is ROOTED in the gospel of Jesus Christ, that REFLECTS his kingdom, and that REACHES our city.
